We carry fewer than a hundred frames at a time. Every one has been through Annette's hands, chosen for how it's made, who made it, and whether it earns its place on our shelves.
We visit two to three trade fairs each year — mostly in San Francisco, occasionally Tokyo — and pick frames one at a time. We look for makers who cut their own acetate, hand-polish their hinges, and can tell you where the raw material came from.
What we don't do: fast fashion, licensed designer names, or mass-produced lookalikes. Nothing wrong with any of that — it's just not the collection we're building.
